I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hostel Casa Ridgway during my trip to San José, and let me tell you, this place hits all the right notes for anyone looking to balance exploration with comfort. Just a short stroll away from the National Museum of Costa Rica and the Museum of Jade, it was perfectly located for a sporty dad like me to dash in and out between discovering local culture with my sons. The hostel had a fantastic communal vibe, with a cozy kitchen that allowed us to whip up quick meals, making it feel like a home away from home. One highlight was connecting with fellow travelers in the lounge area; it was great to share stories and insights from our adventures. Plus, the free WiFi kept me connected for those essential check-ins back home. The staff were incredibly helpful, arranging our late-night airport ride while ensuring we had everything we needed during our stay. The shared bathrooms were kept clean and stocked with hot water, which is a must after a day of exploring. If you're looking for an affordable and welcoming base to discover San José, I can't recommend Casa Ridgway highly enough!
